Hi, I'm Nourhan — and I'm really glad you're here.
I'm a NIP-registered psychologist offering online counselling for expats living in the Netherlands. Whether you’re a student wondering how to adjust to life here, or a working professional juggling identity, stress, and a million unanswered emails — you're in the right place.
My journey into psychology started, as most meaningful things do, with curiosity. I’ve always been fascinated by the human mind and the wild rollercoaster of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours we all experience. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the American University in Cairo, then followed it up with a Master’s in Psychology at Webster University in Leiden, The Netherlands.
My professional path began by working with young neurodivergent children, and over time, my interests expanded to include mental health among marginalized communities, women’s wellbeing, and sports psychology. As someone who’s passionate about basketball and martial arts, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful the mind-body connection can be — and how important it is to create space for that in therapy.
At present, I focus on providing remote counselling in English to the community in the Netherlands — students and professionals (18+) who are navigating all the lovely and less-than-lovely aspects of living abroad. Whether it’s homesickness, anxiety, burnout, or that sneaky imposter syndrome that shows up uninvited, I offer science-based therapy rooted in CBT, ACT, Client-Centered, and integrative approaches. My personal style of counselling also borrows from the teachings of DBT and Systemic Therapy.
Over the years, I’ve delivered more than 350 hours of supervised counselling — but I’m not here to count numbers. I’m here to be a non-judgmental ear, a safe space, and someone who gets it. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, sometimes humorous (because, let’s face it, laughter helps), and always human.
One day, I hope to open a physical clinic that brings my values to life — a cozy, welcoming place where psychology meets real-world needs, and where you can just be… you.
Until then, welcome to my virtual space. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
Let’s unpack that, shall we?
